The Fast & Furious franchise has a history of showing love to MMA fighters in casting. First there was Gina Carano, then Ronda Rousey, and now Francis Ngannou is set to join the blockbuster series for the ninth entry.
The UFC Heavyweight contender will appear in a yet unknown role when the film releases May 22, 2020. He joins WWE Superstar John Cena as a new addition to the franchise.
While Francis “The Predator” Ngannou would not be considered a big talker in the world of MMA, he has quickly emerged as a premiere knockout artist scoring some of the fastest KO’s in the division. I would suspect he won’t have a big speaking role and that his physical presence alone will do a lot of the heavy lifting. No matter how big the part, it’s cool to see two things I am a fan of continue to coincide. Who knows, by the time the film hits theaters Ngannou could very well be UFC Heavyweight champion.
