HBO Announces Westworld Season 3 Premiere Date

Westworld has been off the air for nearly two years, but the mind-bending sci-fi drama is now set to return soon.

HBO has unveiled the premiere date for Season 3 as Sunday, March 15. The upcoming season will feature a new look and new cast-members, chief among them Aaron Paul.  The Breaking Bad alumni looks to play a key role if the Season 3 teaser is anything to go by. Joining Paul among new recruits for the season are Vincent Cassel, Lena Waithe, Scott Mescudi, and Marshawn Lynch.

It was clear when Westworld first premiered it was being positioned as the next big HBO drama to take over after Game of Thrones ended. While the first couple seasons received many accolades and generated a ton of attention, I don’t believe the series will ever achieve the type of mass appeal success that GOT produced over its run.

After a somewhat disappointing second season in the eyes of some, Westworld really needs to capture the fanfare Season 1 generated. With a shakeup in setting and focus, the ingredients are there for it to do so.
