Vagrant Queen is Syfy’s latest space opera series and the cable channel has announced the premiere date and released the official trailer.
Based on the comic book series of the same name, Vagrant Queen slides into the familiar Syfy Friday time-slot on March 27, at 10 pm. Spanning 10 episodes, Vagrant Queen sees a rag-tag trio of individuals come together to beat the odds and perhaps become unlikely heroes. Check out the official synopsis below.
“Vagrant Queen follows Elida (Adriyan Rae) from child queen to orphaned outcast as she scavenges the treacherous corners of the galaxy, always one step ahead of the Republic government that seeks to extinguish her bloodline. When her old friend Isaac (Tim Rozon) shows up claiming her mother, Xevelyn, is still alive, they head off with their new ally, Amae (Alex McGregor), to stage a rescue that will put the fugitive royal right back in the perilous heart of her former kingdom — and pit her against a deadly old rival, Commander Lazaro (Paul du Toit).”
Judging from the trailer footage, I am getting a Killjoys vibe from the series, only with a lot more aliens. The story seems to fall into familiar territory, but if Vagrant Queen can nail the bond between characters and deliver a fun space adventure I can see it finding a spot in my viewing rotation.
