Peacock Offers First Look At Utopian Series ‘Brave New World’

As Peacock prepares to fully launch next month, the upcoming streaming service has started to ramp up promotion. Brave New World is one of its flagship original series and a trailer has just dropped.

Based on the book of the same name, Brave New World is set in a futuristic utopian society where the achievement of peace has come at the cost of freedom. In order to fit in you must sacrifice control of monogamy and privacy.

Enter John the Savage played by Alden Ehrenreich who threatens to upend the perfect harmony of New London. The trailer released offers a glimpse at the heavily connected and heavily medicated world that John enters. No pain, hunger, or violence sounds ideal on the surface, but soon cracks began to show.

Brave New World was first published in 1932, so a number of the themes and concepts have been seen before in other properties even if they may have first originated here. I’m hoping the cast that includes Harry Lloyd, Jessica Brown Findlay, Kylie Bunbury, Demi Moore, Joseph Morgan, and Hannah John-Kamen will really be able the bring the story to life.

Check out the trailer below and look for the show to premiere Wednesday, July 15 on Peacock.
