The graphic novel from writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Cliff Chiang begin its run in October 2015 and finished July 2019 with a total of 30 issues. A synopsis of the story can be read below.
“Paper Girls” follows four young girls who, while out delivering papers on the morning after Halloween in 1988, become unwittingly caught in a conflict between warring factions of time-travelers, sending them on an adventure through time that will save the world. As they travel between our present, the past, and the future — they encounter future versions of themselves and now must choose to embrace or reject their fate.”
I haven’t read Paper Girls, but I’m a big fan of Brian K. Vaughn based on his comics Y: The Last Man, also being adapted for TV at FX, and Saga. After reading the brief description the premise sounds interesting and I imagine casting will be key for finding the young and old counterparts for each character. Paper Girls, along with the animated Invincible series are two Amazon projects I will keep on my radar.
