HBO has dropped the official trailer for True Detective Season 3 and the new footage sheds some more light on what to expect.
The new season centers on an Arkansas cop played by Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali and a mysterious case involving two missing kids. The details of the case continue to haunt him years later, with the new season spanning multiple time periods.
Various shots glimpsed in the trailer certainly hint at something ominous taking place during the investigation. Not only involving what exactly happened to the children, but why Detective Hays cannot remember what took place.
