Arrow Hangs Up The Hood For Good With Final Season 8

In many ways Arrow has been the flagship show of the current CW. It was the start of the Arrowverse which spawned many of the superhero shows on the network today. Now the long-running series is heading towards the end.

The announcement was made Season 8 of Arrow would bring the show to its conclusion. Series star, Stephen Amell shared the news on Twitter.

Playing Oliver Queen has been the greatest professional experience of my life… but you can’t be a vigilante forever.

Arrow will return for a final run of 10 episodes this Fall.

The final season will be shortened down to 10 episodes, and wrap up after the big “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event. I’ve been a fan of  Arrow since the beginning and I’m okay with the series ending in Season 8.

It has been a hell of a run and its truly impressive how Arrow paved the way for The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and Black Lightning. If nothing else it has given me more of an appreciation for the Green Arrow character and many DC characters in general. With the last season being only 10 episodes, I expect it to have a tight focus and for the show to go out on a high note.
