One of the more intriguing series headed to Freeform later this year is Motherland: Fort Salem. An extended trailer has dropped giving a better look at what the show has in store.
The concept of witches fighting in the military, in an alternate version of America is certainly unique. I can see why Freeform picked the series up to air. The focus on women empowerment with the supernatural twist should mesh well with the channel’s demographic.
Personally I know a standard military drama wouldn’t appeal to me, but the magical element increases my curiosity. From the footage shown it looks like the military will wage war with not only domestic threats, but supernatural ones as well. The shot of bodies plummeting to their deaths by an evil force in the footage is creepy.
