Brooklyn Nine-Nine Secures Early Season 8 Renewal

Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s move from Fox to NBC continues to be a beneficial one. Season 7 of the sitcom has not premiered yet, and already NBC has announced the show will be back for an eight season.

The network switch of the long-running comedy has resulted in increased ratings year-over-year and early renewals, both being signs of relief for fans of the show. Brooklyn Nine-Nine returns for Season 7 Thursday, Feb. 6. As of now the new season has been greenlit for 13 episodes, but the upcoming season could expand to more episodes if ordered.

When the series returns it will now occupy the time-slot after Superstore. The news isn’t too surprising considering the passionate fan base for the show and the viewers it delivers not only on TV, but on digital and streaming platforms as well.  With The Good Place ending and NBC struggling with some of its new comedies this fall, the early renewal makes even more sense.
