There has been somewhat of a resurgence with black sketch shows lately. HBO dropped A Black Lady Sketch Show in August and Netflix has Astronomy Club: The Sketch Show premiering this month.
From executive producer Kenya Barris, Astronomy Club hits Netflix on December 6. The black sketch group formed in 2013 and features members Shawtane Bowen, Jonathan Braylock, Ray Cordova, James III, Caroline Martin, Jerah Milligan, Monique Moses, and Keisha Zollar.
Astronomy Club is set for six episodes tackling pop-culture, social issues, and the black experience. Viewers might be familiar with their work, as the group previously had a Comedy Central digital series. Check out the official trailer below.
