AMC’s epic martial arts series Into the Badlands is back next month and looks to be bigger and badder than ever based on the season 3 trailer.
The Badlands are at war with The Widow and Baron Chau battling for supremacy. Sunny reunites with Bajie in order to save his sick son Henry. And mysterious newcomer Pilgrim looks to restore order to the Badlands, even if he has to walk through severed heads to do so.
The trailer as a whole is ripe with bloody action, displaying the scenic locales of Ireland where the show is filmed. The colorful and detailed costumes the characters sport makes the action pop even more.
Into the Badlands is truly unlike anything on television currently, which is a feat among itself considering the sheer number of shows airing. Simply put, it’s the best action show on TV and I’m glad the upcoming season has been expanded to sixteen episodes. Although it wouldn’t surprise me if AMC breaks the season into two halves a la The Walking Dead.
The first two seasons are now available on Netflix, making it easy for newcomers to catch up on the series. Check out the season three trailer below and look for the premiere Sunday, April 22nd on AMC.
