Netflix has really invested in sci-fi this year and looks to continue the trend with the recently announced Another Life starring Katee Sackhoff. Another Life comes from creator Aaron Martin and stars Sackhoff as Niko Breckinridge, an astronaut who leads an outer-space mission searching for alien intelligence.
The premise is a familiar one to sci-fi fans, but the involvement of Katee Sackhoff and the Netflix commitment for 10 episodes generate interest.
Netflix has the budget to really make sci-fi shine on screen, look no further than the visuals of Altered Carbon or Lost in Space. With Katee Sackhoff they have an actress already beloved by many sci-fi viewers from her role as Starbuck on Battlestar Galactica.
Those are certainly two positives for the series to start off with. Here’s hoping her crew is filled out with more talented actors and Another Life brings something fresh to the familiar set-up.
