There are no shortage of superhero shows on TV, but The Boys headed to Amazon Prime Video this summer is aiming for something different.
Based on the graphic novel of the same name, The Boys follows a group of vigilantes who target corrupt superheroes who abuse their power for fame, money, and influence. If you need more insight into why The Boys isn’t standard superhero fare, the short teaser released is a good indication.
While it doesn’t explain any story elements, the series of clips definitely portrays hard-hitting action with glimpses of humor. As Amazon begins to push more into genre fare with a number of comic, sci-fi, and fantasy shows in development, The Boys looks like a great start.
