Robert Kirkman is most known for The Walking Dead, but Invincible is another highly regarded comic book series of his and the animated adaptation has moved closer to reality.
The eight-episode, hour-long series headed to Amazon Prime Video in 2020 is stacked with a stellar voice cast. Leading the way is Steven Yeun as Mark Grayson and J.K. Simmons as Omni-Man. The voice cast also includes big names like Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, and Mae Whitman. For those unfamiliar with the series, check out a synopsis below.
“The adult animated superhero series revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Yeun), who’s just like every other guy his age — except his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (Simmons). But as Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers his father’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.”
After hearing many positive things about the comic and how it evolves in surprising ways, I’m really looking forward to Invincible. It’s rare to see an adult animated series and for it to be an hour in length. This is just one of many upcoming projects Amazon has in development that has me excited.
