Starz may have canceled Counterpart, but the cable network hasn’t given up on spy shows completely. The Rook headed to Starz this summer blends spy-craft with superhuman abilities.
Loosely based on the book of the same name, The Rook stars Emma Greenwell as Myfanwy Thomas, a young woman who wakes up with no memory and surrounded by dead bodies. She discovers she is a top agent in Britain’s secret service for people with paranormal abilities. Who is responsible for wiping her memory and why is she a target are questions Myfanwy must answer if she wants to survive.
The Rook cast also includes Joely Richardson, Olivia Munn, Adrian Lester, Ronan Raftery, Catherine Steadman, and Jon Fletcher. The teaser dropped by Starz gives a small taste of what to expect. Check it out below.
