Snowpiercer TV Adaptation Switches Tracks To TBS, Lands Season 2 Renewal

When it was first announced the 2013 film Snowpiercer would be getting a TV adaptation, it seemed like an unlikely choice. The road to make that choice a reality has been a long one, but new developments have kept the momentum going.

Originally set to air on TNT, Snowpiercer is now switching over to TBS for a spring 2020 debut. Additionally, the series has been renewed for a second season before any episodes have aired. Early cable renewals are not uncommon, but the vote of confidence might convey TBS is happy with the series new direction.

Snowpiercer has already seen the original creator and director leave the project amid creative differences. The behind-the-scenes drama hasn’t instilled me with confidence, yet a cast that includes Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, and Alison Wright has me intrigued. Only time will tell if the project sees any more delays or if Snowpiercer can arrive on time for its new 2020 TBS destination.
