Nasim Pedrad Transforms Into ‘Chad’ For TBS Comedy

High school comedies are nothing new and have been a TV staple for many years. However, a grown woman playing a young freshman boy is unique, and it’s the role Nasim Pedrad adopts in Chad for TBS.

The comedy has been in development for a number of years. First at Fox and now headed to TBS where it has a 10-episode pickup. Thanks to the magic of makeup, Pedrad plays Chad, a 14-year old Persian boy looking to find popularity as he enters high-school.

It’s funny to see this series, along with Hulu’s PEN15 having adult women play young children. At first glance it seems like more of a sketch idea, but I’m curious enough to at least give the series a chance. The final moments of the trailer did make me laugh.  Check it out below.
