Atlanta has been one of the most critically acclaimed shows on TV since it premiered and FX is clearly behind the series issuing an early Season 4 renewal.
The third season of Atlanta has not even aired, but FX looks to remain in the Donald Glover business. Production on both Seasons 3 and 4 is scheduled to start this spring, with the seasons shooting back to back. While this means Season 3 won’t arrive till sometime in 2020, the wait for Season 4 shouldn’t be nearly as long. Both seasons are set for 8 episodes.
The shooting schedule also helps with the busy nature of the cast, who remain in high demand. The quartet of Brian Tyree Henry, Donald Glover, Lakeith Stanfield, and Zazie Beetz have stayed active since Season 2 wrapped. The wait for Atlanta‘s return will be long, but I expect it will be well worth it because nothing else on TV is quite like it.
