When The Magicians returns for its new season in January, the show will not only be dealing with the death of a major character, but also the problems that result in having too much magic.
Syfy has relased the first trailer for Season 5 and while lead character Quentin Coldwater may no longer be in the picture, his presence looms large. His ultimate sacrifice to save his friends and restore magic will be a driving force of the season. Magic is back, but in abundance leading to all kind of side effects including a potential apocalypse.
The events of the Season 4 finale were a major surprise. Watching the new trailer has me confident The Magicians can retain its spark even without Quentin. The series has always featured a great ensemble and the writing, humor, and fun all come through in the new footage. Check it out below and look for the return of The Magicians on January 15.
