As spring approaches, The CW prepares to say goodbye to another long-running series. The network has announced the return date for the seventh and final season of The 100.
Following on the heels of Arrow and Supernatural ending this year, The 100 returns for its final string of episodes Wednesday, May 20. Season 7 will consist of 16 episodes, fittingly bringing the total series episode count to 100 exactly.
The show ending is a mutual decision between the creative forces and network. While this chapter is coming to an end, a potential prequel spin-off is in development. One episode of the upcoming season will serve as a back-door pilot, offering a glimpse at what the spin-off might look like if picked up to series. New cast additions for Season 7 include Chad Rook, Alaina Huffman, and Shelby Flannery.
