It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Scores Record Breaking Renewal

FX has announced a slew of renewals recently, including It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia for a record-breaking Season 15.

The show will become the longest running American live-action comedy in history. Currently Always Sunny is tied with The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet at 14 seasons, but will pass it when the new season airs.

Expected to return sometime next year, writing on Season 15 of Always Sunny has begun, with star Rob McElhenney revealing a future episode will address the coronavirus.

It is amazing to think a show that was struggling in ratings after Season 1 and used the addition of Danny DeVito to boost its profile has been able to stay on the air for so long and maintain a good level of quality. While the core cast has all pursued other projects, it’s nice they remain committed to Always Sunny and will continue making it for as long as the fans show up to watch.
