In the month of June HBO takes a look toward the past with Perry Mason and has released the first official trailer.
Starring Emmy winner Matthew Rhys in the titular role, Perry Mason premieres Sunday, June 21 and follows the character before he became a famed defense lawyer. In this version set in 1932 Los Angeles, Mason is a private investigator who takes on a case involving the kidnapping and death of an infant boy. Joining Matthew Rhys in the cast are fellow Emmy winners Tatiana Maslany and John Lithgow, alongside Shea Whigham, Juliet Rylance, Robert Patrick, and Stephen Root among others.
The trailer sets the stage for what looks to be a gripping and complicated case. The cops, the church, and everyone in between has a hand in the death and cover-up.
