Season 2 of Doom Patrol ended on a major cliff-hanger, so it’s great news the series will be returning for another season.
The announcement was made this past weekend at Part 2 of DC Fandome. Doom Patrol Season 3 will not air on DC Universe, as the future of that service remains murky, and will exclusively air on HBO Max instead.
Since Doom Patrol has made its way to the new service, it has become one of the top performers on the platform and is a standout among the early offerings on HBO Max. Personally it was the first show I checked out when it launched back in May. There is no word yet on an episode count, but Doom Patrol Season 3 is scheduled to arrive in 2021.
While there are numerous comic book shows on the air now, Doom Patrol stands out for its often bizarre, hilarious, and creative take on a group of damaged individuals forming a make-shift family of sorts. If you haven’t checked it out or feel burned out on the number of superhero shows available, I would recommend giving the series a shot because there isn’t anything else quite like it on TV.
