Much like its characters, Search Party has taken an unexpected path. Originally a TBS show, the comedy series has since transitioned over to HBO Max and now has been renewed for Season 5.
The news arrives not long after the Season 4 finale that ended on a truly shocking moment. Fans of the show have to be curious about what new direction the characters of Dory, Drew, Portia, and Elliot will take considering everything they have been through.
Search Party has clearly found an audience on HBO Max and the streaming service has invested in the talent behind it, giving creators Charles Rogers and Sarah-Violet Bliss an overall deal to create new projects. While it is not a certainty that Season 5 of Search Party will be the last, it certainly could be considering the trajectory of the show. If that is indeed the case, I look forward to seeing what new ideas the creators have in the future.
