Amazon Bets Big on Hanna With Super Bowl Ad and Sneak Preview

Standing out in the increasingly crowded TV landscape is hard to do. Amazon hopes to attract some attention to its new series Hanna with a Super Bowl ad and sneak preview.

Based on the 2011 movie of the same name, Hanna premieres on Prime Video in March with an eight-episode first season. Viewers will have an opportunity to preview the first episode during a 24-hour window following the Super Bowl.

This is a smart strategy by Amazon.  Not only with the Super Bowl ad, but the sneak preview as well to build up anticipation and speaks to the potential Amazon believes Hanna might have. I have noticed more commercials for Amazon lately on TV. Netflix is currently king of the streaming platforms, but Amazon is looking to make a bigger push into scripted series and remind people they are more than an online shopping destination.

The Super Bowl ad quickly establishes the basic premise of the series. A mercenary father trains his young daughter in survival skills, which are put to the test when the CIA comes after them. Check out the action-heavy ad below.
