Cinemax Sets Release Date For Warrior

With shows like Strike Back and Banshee, Cinemax has hosted some of the best action on TV these past few years. Warrior headed to Cinemax in April looks like another action series that is sure to deliver.

It certainly has a great foundation to start with. Inspired by the writings of Bruce Lee and brought to fruition by his daughter Shannon Lee and Justin Lin, Warrior debuts April 5th on Cinemax. The 10 episode series follows a martial arts prodigy who finds himself ensnared in San Francisco’s brutal Tong Wars in the late 1800s.

Jonathan Trooper of Banshee fame serves as creator and executive producer with Justin Lin directing the pilot, along with being an executive producer. Anyone who has watched Banshee knows Trooper excels at crafting action scenes and creating memorable characters. Lin of course is no stranger to delivering action either with his work on the Fast & Furious franchise.

The latest teaser for Warrior is a quick glimpse at the high stakes involved and what it takes for the characters to survive in the violent setting of the show.  Check it out below.
