There have been a number of science fiction shows hitting the airwaves lately. Devs on Hulu, Westworld on HBO, and Vagrant Queen coming to Syfy are just a few that have premiered or will be releasing shortly. Amazon Prime Video is getting in on the action with Tales From the Loop arriving next month.
The eight episode series takes inspiration from Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag. Tales From the Loop is set in a town where the residents live above the Loop, “a machine built to unlock and explore the mysteries of the universe.”
The trailer released by Amazon evokes a sense of wonder and discovery. Giant robots, black holes, teleportation, and robotic arms are just a few of the elements glimpsed in the footage. The cast includes Rebecca Hall, Paul Schneider, Daniel Zolghadri, Duncan Joiner, and Jonathan Pryce.
